Biography
Shaker A Mousa finished his PhD from Ohio State University, College of Medicine, Columbus, OH and Post-doctoral Fellowship, University of Kentucky, Lexington KY. He also received his MBA from Widener University, Chester, PA. He is currently an endowed tenure Professor and Executive Vice President and Chairman of the Pharmaceutical Research Institute and Vice Provost for Research at ACPHS. Prior to his academic career, he was a senior Scientist and fellow at The DuPont Pharmaceutical Company for 17 years, where he contributed to the discovery and development of several FDA approved and globally marketed diagnostics and therapeutics. He holds over 350 US and International Patents discovering novel anti-angiogenesis strategies, antithrombotics, anti-integrins, anti-cancer, and non-invasive diagnostic imaging approaches employing various nanotechnology platforms. His has published more than 1,000 journal articles, book chapters, published patents, and books as editor and author. He is a member of several NIH study sections, and the Editorial Board Member of several high impact Journals. His research has focused on diagnostics and therapeutics of angiogenesis-related disorders, thrombosis, vascular and cardiovascular diseases.
Research Interest
Dr. Mousa's current research interests include: Adhesion molecules in health and diseases, Novel therapeutic and diagnostic targets, Treatment and prevention of ischemic and coronary artery diseases, Angiogenesis modulation, vascular and tissue remodeling, and novel anti-platelet, anti-thrombotic and anti-ischemic therapies. Dr. Mousa received a Ph.D. in Pharmacology from The Ohio State University, completed postdoctoral research in Cardiovascular Pharmacology at the University of Kentucky and earned his MBA from Widener University. A native of Alexandria, Egypt, he received his B.Pharm. and M.Sc. degrees from Alexandria University. He was elected a fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC) and a fellow of the National Academy of Clinical Biochemistry (FACB), and is a member of several national and international societies. He was recently awarded grants through the U.S. Department of Defense and the National Institute of Health.
Biography
Dr. Alain L Fymat is a medical scientist and an educator. He was educated at the University of Paris-Sorbonne and the University of California at Los Angeles. He is the current President/CEO and Professor at the International Institute of Medicine and Science with a previous appointment as Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer and Professor at the Weil Institute of Critical Care Medicine. He was formerly Professor of Radiology, Radiological Sciences, Radiation Medicine (Oncology), Critical Care Medicine, and Physics at several U.S. and European Universities. Previously, he was Deputy Director (Western Region) of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration (Office of Research Oversight), and Director of the Magnetic Resonance Imaging Center and for a time Acting Chair of Radiology at its Loma Linda, California Medical Center. He has extensively published (~ 350 publications including patents, books & monographs, book chapters, refereed articles) and has lectured extensively in the USA, Africa and Asia. He has been the recipient of numerous research grants from government, academia and private industry, and has consulted extensively with these entities. He is Honorable Editor of the International Journal of Cancer Prevention and Current Research and the International Journal of Nanomedicine Research. He s also Editor of the Global Journal of Nanomedicine and the Journal of Nanobiotechnology. He is a Board member of several institutions and Health Advisor of the American Heart & Stroke Association (Coachella Valley Division, California).
Research Interest
Dr. Fymat’s current research interests lie at the interface between science and medicine, particularly molecular/personal/precision medicine, nanomedicine, human genetics/epigenetics/ecogenetics, and pharmacogenomics. His most recent publications deal with magnetic resonance Imaging with nanocontrasting materials, nanotechnology and cancer, nanochemotherapy, nanoneurology, natural and synthetic immunotherapy, drug delivery including across the brain protective barriers, and drug manufacturing in Africa.

Ranendra N Saha, Senior Professor and Director of BITS Pilani Dubai Campus and also Shri B K Birla and Sarala Birla Chair Professor, studied Pharmacy at Jadavpur University, Kolkata, India and has 36 years of teaching, research and academic administration experience. He has already guided 20 doctoral students and 5 more are doing under him, apart from many graduate students. He has developed and transferred technologies on drug delivery systems, granted patent, commercialized designed products, completed industry sponsored projects. He has received several awards including Best Pharmacy Teacher of India Award in 2005, Pharmacy Professional of the year 2013. He is visited universities and research institutes, on invitation, of USA, Canada, Sweden, Syria, etc and also visiting professor at universities. Organised and delivered lectures at international conferences. He is member of several professional bodies.
